Wara Chapare Pure Coca Tea
Wara Matcha Style Powdered Tea is a strong tea darker than Yungas, Windsor, and Oruro. It is made with Chapare tea leaves, finely ground mesh 60, matcha style.
It is the first time since 2004 that we are using leaves from the Chapare region as we generally use Caranavi- Yungas from La Paz.
Chapare is an Amazonian area in the State of Cochabamba, Bolivia, a tropical paradise where exotic fruits, flowers, and fields enchant visitors and locals. Chapare coca is made out of leaves without stems. Great as an energy drink or coffee substitute. While natives in Bolivia prefer the sweetness of the coca from Yungas and Caranavi, Chapare is the biggest producer of coca leaves in Bolivia and biggest legal fields in the world. Unfortunately, 94% of the production in this area goes to the illegal market and it is an area jealously protected by politicians and locals.

Wara is robust in flavor, with a slightly smoky taste and a bitterness well known to the coca from that area. Wara is made out of mature tea leaves, and its energy effects are faster than Yungas or Windsor and has a lasting impact similar to Yungas. This tea can get brewed, boiled, and cold-brewed. It needs an activator for chewing, and alkaline water is highly recommended for brewing. Do not use the activator from brewing!!
